The holiday season is upon us, and here at P+A we take Christmas very seriously. Our month of December has been jam-packed with holiday activities keeping us busy as the year comes to a close. This year, we started off December with some fantastic Feuerzangenbowle, prepped and hand-made by Johannes, who put on quite a show. This traditional German alcoholic drink is made from a rum-soaked sugarloaf, sitting atop a pot full of mulled wine. As the sugarloaf is lit on fire, the sugar caramelizes and melts into the wine, adding a hint of rum into it to make a warm and wintery beverage… the perfect way to start off the holidays!

The following week, P+A had our annual cookie exchange, with over 15 different types of cookies. Our mouths were watering as we collected almost 60 cookies each, ranging from sesame matcha to double chocolate peppermint cookies. To say we were satisfied is an understatement!

Following the cookie exchange was some friendly competition, in the form of gingerbread houses. Although two teams went with a traditional gingerbread house setup, a few landscape architects put their knowledge to the test and created a modern and simplistic house… complete with a green roof! They even added a drip strip along the walls! One could say it replicates a sustainable Vancouver Special.

In the end, it was our Holiday Christmas Party that was the cherry on top of a fantastic month. We started our celebration with a game of White Elephant, than moved the party over to GRUB, a local eatery that has hosted our parties in the past. Their 3-course meals are to die for, followed by delicious cocktails that kept us hydrated all night.

2017 has been a fantastic year for P+A, and we’re very excited for what the new year has in store for us.
