P+A were the landscape architects on the consultant team that master-planned this emerging mixed-use waterfront community, located South of Squamish on a former brownfield sawmill site on the Mamquam Blind Channel.
Working closely with the developer and the District, our responsibilities included overall and neighbourhood conceptual design, determination of water’s edge and roadway typologies and cross sections, theming and custom furniture design, and the determination of a hierarchy of connected and programmed open spaces. The design includes a linear public waterfront promenade that transitions from the natural environment to an urban waterfront condition.
The project is currently in the preliminary implementation stages. P+A is responsible for the detailed design of the presentation centre, as well as the first two phases of townhomes.
